Alzheimer’s and Dementia Event
Alzheimer’s and Dementia
While heart disease and cancer continue to be the two leading causes of death in our country, Alzheimer’s is by far the fastest growing. Not only is it set to triple in the next two decades, but an estimated 1 in 4 people will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Further, while we all know cancer survivors, nobody knows an Alzheimer’s survivor. Thankfully, breakthroughs in research have discovered a significant link between inflammation and Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. We already know the damaging effect inflammation has on our body, it makes sense that it has a similar impact on our brain.
Here’s the Problem
Our healthcare system continues to treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s and dementia as opposed to addressing the cause. You probably already know that inflammation lies at the source of every chronic disease process, but did you know it’s also a source of Alzheimer’s and dementia. But there’s good news! If we know the source of the inflammation, we can not only help prevent Alzheimer’s and dementia, but we can even reverse the symptoms in many cases.
This is a free event hosted at the Matt Ross Center. The address is 8101 Marty St, Overland Park, KS 66204, on Thursday, July 18, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
