Meet Dr. Jonah

Welcome!

Dr. Jonah Yakel is a chiropractor and functional health practitioner who consults with people around the world. His practice focuses on discovering the underlying root causes of chronic diseases and creating personalized health programs for a wide range of conditions.

Dr. Yakel specializes in:
• Cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease
• ADHD management, particularly in women
• Anxiety and depression
• Autoimmune conditions
• Mold and Lyme related illness
• Blood sugar dysfunction
• Chronic inflammatory conditions

Dr. Yakel's passion to help people heal is driven by his own experiences. In 2009, he survived a traumatic car accident resulting in over 30 fractures and nearly a month in ICU. Years later, after fully recovering and establishing a successful holistic health practice, Dr. Yakel began to experience significant cognitive decline. A brain MRI revealed severe degeneration, likely the result of ongoing brain inflammation traced back to the car accident in combination with several environmental factors including mold exposure.

Utilizing an integrated approach and cutting-edge therapies, Dr. Yakel was able to fully heal and repair his brain in less than two years. This personal journey not only deepened his understanding of brain health but also led him to explore the interconnections between various cognitive functions, including the management of ADHD.

Dr. Yakel's interest in ADHD, particularly in women, took on a deeply personal dimension when his own daughter went undiagnosed for years. Witnessing her struggles and the lack of support available, he became acutely aware of how ADHD often presents differently in women and girls, frequently leading to misdiagnosis or no diagnosis at all. This experience ignited a passion in Dr. Yakel to become an advocate and specialist in women's ADHD health.

Drawing from his personal experiences as both a patient and a parent, extensive research, and clinical practice, Dr. Yakel has developed innovative strategies to help women with ADHD regain focus, build stable relationships, and accomplish their goals without relying solely on traditional medications. He empathizes deeply with the unique challenges women face in managing ADHD and the often-overlooked impact it can have on their personal and professional lives.

His approach to ADHD management integrates seamlessly with his broader brain health protocols, addressing the underlying factors that contribute to cognitive challenges. This comprehensive method allows him to support clients dealing with a spectrum of issues, from cognitive decline to focus and attention difficulties, with a special emphasis on the needs of women who have long been underserved in this area.

In addition to his online consulting practice, Dr. Yakel consults for George Washington Center for Integrated Medicine in Washington, DC.
